Wooden Railway Adventures and Choochoos4u is a family owned and operated business based in Greenville, SC near the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We have been in business for over 15 years selling toy trains at regional model train shows, and our website. Our interest with wooden railway comes as a result of raising a boy in love with trains and creative toys.

- We care about the environment, especially yours. Our packages are packed with "newsprint". (This is actually your newspaper before anything is printed on it.) A large percentage of this paper is recycled. In addition, we know that most of our packages will be opened in the presence of small children, therefore we avoid using the less expensive packing peanuts or other toxic packing material that a child may be tempted to chew.
- We respect your privacy. We will not disclose your private contact, billing, or e-mail information. Your transaction takes place on a Secure Yahoo! That is my beautiful wife, Beverly. She is the owner, but will still be the one who answers your call. Matt is our son. Check and Money Orders may be used with phone orders only. Please e-mail us once the check is in the mail and we will hold your merchandise. Orders will ship once payment has cleared.
We also accept Paypal through our Shopping Cart. Simply select that option and follow the simple directions. We accept Paypal payments from confirmed, verified, and US accounts only. Because of Paypal policies, payments received that do not meet this requirement will be returned.

Orders generally process and ship by FedEx within 24 hours of receipt Monday-Friday (excluding holidays), unless indicated otherwise on the item page.
Orders weighing less than 2 pounds usually ship USPS (United States Postal Service).
The quoted shipping rates are for FedEx Ground deliverable addresses only.
Orders going to rural addresses, APO's FPO's, ALASKA, HAWAII, WESTERN USA, and USA possessions like Guam, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, etc. (basically places that will have excessive shipping costs) may have additional shipping charges added. Call, or we will contact you about the charges prior to shipping. If you qualify for free shipping to these areas, we will cover the first $9.95 of the shipping cost.
Orders shipped to South Carolina will be charged 6.0% sales tax.
We currently DO NOT ship outside of the USA and its possessions.
The shipping address must be complete and accurate, as standardized by the US Postal Service. In the event that an incorrect or incomplete address is entered for the shipping address and FedEx bills us for an address correction charge, an $15.00 fee will be applied to your credit card. The Post Office will "try" to find you before shipping the item back to us. USPS returns take about 3 weeks to wend their way back here before we can reship it to your correct address. The most frequent errors are incomplete address, (be sure you have added "Street", "Drive", "Ave.., "Trail" etc...), missing direction ("North First Street" or "South First Street"?), typos in the house number and zip code, and oddly enough, incomplete town names (Is it Lovelyville or North Lovelyville).
You may cancel your order any time before shipment at no charge - but call/email us right away! To stop and return an item that has already shipped, FedEx charges us an $15 fee, which will be deducted from your refund, in addition to being subject to a 10% return/restocking fee and any shipping costs that we incurred to ship the product to you.
Please remember, that ABC Booksleuths is our parent company, and that is the name you will see on your charge statement. If you should forget and file a chargeback, our merchant services, Elavon charges us a $15 fee to undo the chargeback, which we must pass on to you.
We currently offer gift wrapping. We have Birthday and non-religious Holiday paper - perfect for Christmas or Hanukkah, etc. The gift wrap charge is $3.50/item. Tables, Tops, Nilo, the large Thomas sets/tables/tops, and other items sent directly from the manufacturer cannot be wrapped. We try to reduce your costs by wrapping items together and will reduce the wrapping charge accordingly. Not all item combinations for wrapping will be possible (eg: big train roundhouse and Cranky the Crane). If you NEED each item wrapped separately (eg:Hanukkah, two gifts for two children) then let us know! We will work hard to honor your request.
This website makes use of SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) technology to make your order secure and worry free. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL 128-bit) technology scrambles your personal and credit card information as it travels over the Internet during the checkout process to prevent the decoding of that information by anyone other than us. Your personal information is for our use in processing your order only. Your personal information will never be sold, shared or distributed to a third party. Any paper documents related to your order will be shredded 60 days after order.
Returns are accepted within 30 days from date of delivery. All items must be returned in new, unused condition and returned in original packaging. All returns are subject to a 10% restocking fee plus any shipping costs that we incurred to ship the product to you. You are responsible for the cost of freight to return your purchase. Please email us for instructions BEFORE you return an item.
If your original purchase qualified for a FREE shipping offer and you choose to return any part or all of the order, you also will be responsible for the original cost we incurred to ship the product to you.
All refunds will be made to the person/credit card that made the original purchase.

DAMAGED / LOST IN TRANSIT:
Upon receipt of your items, you have 5 days to report to us any damage due to shipping. You must have the tracking number and retain all shipping materials (carton, packing materials, etc.). All FedEx shipments are fully insured and we will work with the shipper to facilitate the pickup of the damaged item for inspection and the shipment of a replacement. Free replacements or reimbursements will not be made if reported after 5 days. For loss: If you haven't received your package in 7 days, contact us RIGHT AWAY for tracking. FedEx insurance will no longer cover packages that were shown to be "delivered" more than 10 days prior. Their insurance pays for the replacements.
All USPS packages will be shipped with insurance, but if your pacakaged arrives damaged, there are two choices you can make:
1) YOU can file a claim with the U.S. Postal Service. You will need to provide the package for their inspection at your local branch office and they will process your claim. We can send you any paperwork that you may need to facilitate your process. The damaged item can be replaced with the claim money that you may receive from the USPS.
2) WE can file a claim on your behalf. A replacement will be sent to you while we wait for the USPS to reimburse us.
For loss: If you haven't received your packages in 2 weeks, please contact us so we can try to track it, or start a loss claim. USPS works a little slower than FedEx, and will generally make you wait 30 days before filing a claim. If we get the heads-up sooner, we can start a tracer so they may be able to locate it and avoid a claim.
CANCEL AN ORDER:
Orders may be canceled prior to shipping - but hurry, we ship fast! (usually within 24 hrs after order). Please email us if you wish to cancel an order. If the order has been shipped, please refer to our Return Policy.
We accept exchanges on a limited basis, subject to our standard return policy.
Maxim products (non-battery operated) are covered by a lifetime warranty due to manufacturer defects. If you have a defective item, please call 1-888-266-2946.
Maxim battery-powered products, including "Farmer Mac" and the "Crossing Gate with Light and Sound", have a limited warranty, guaranteed for 90 days from the date of purchase under normal use and service against defective workmanship and material. If it fails within that time, we will replace the product. This guarantee is void if the product has been damaged by accident or unreasonable use, such as, but not limited to: immersion in water, neglect, battery leakage or improper installation, improper service or causes not arising out of defects in materials and workmanship
Because Learning Curve stopped making the Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway in 2011, they no longer offer any kind of warranty for their products. They are unable to replace any broken pieces. Because of this, we are selling their products as "collectibles".
