(shown in photo, but not included) The food-grade plastic in the wheels, pivot tabs, and engine body (which also protects the magnet from chipping and breaking!) is a safer plastic!. Unlike other plastics, "food grade" is used to make plastic picnic utensils. So, while your child SHOULDN'T put trains in their mouth, this food-grade plastic keeps you safer! I don't know of any other train manufacturer that uses food-grade plastic in their toys, or uses the magnet cups to protect the magnets - it's an American Train & Toy exclusive! All materials are compliant with ASTM F-963-16 material safety requirements for product safety in children's toys.
